Eden Park, Malagos, and Trapped Sharks Sept 20

Day 8 Sept 20 Mon

We went to see the shop of Janice which is very interesting, because I can get an alloy bike for a really good rate. Then we ate lunch at a Carinderia in front of GMA Mindanao, then proceeded to a resort that is on top of the hill where we found a Japanese warplane crashed there and nobody bothered to move it.

Then we proceeded to Eden Garden, tried the Zip line (P 150) which is just ok (Lake Sebu is super far super better). Then we went around the garden tour (P225), first photo opps at Flower garden, then Lola’s Garden (different type of gumamela overlooking davao city) and lastly are the imitation of the tribal communities. Then they served us the snack  (noodles, half tasty, bottled water/softdrinks and brownies).

Then we went to Malagos to check out the flowers and orchids, unfortunately we arrived late because the closing is 4pm. Janice bought a waling waling for her mom, and we just looked around.

Then we went to Nikkei Jin Kai, the Phil Japanese Museum, where the Japanese arrived in the Philippines as Abaca workers way back 1905. Will ask Janice for more information.

Then we went to Queensland Motel with baywalk  park, a statue of a big naked David (not sure if he is the one from the bible) and a pond with more that 6 Black Tip Shark held captive, open to the public. The owner and Municipal Officers of  Davao are breaking the law RA 8550 or Philippine Fishery Code (Pagprotekta at pagbabawal sa pagkuha ng mga Rare, Threatened at Endangered Species) and RA9147 Wildlife Resources Conservation and Protection. John my fb friends said it use to be more than 20 Black Tip baby sharks, and they started to die, one by one.

The we went back to the Hotel to freshen up before meeting Ms. Alma for dinner. She picked us 8am and went to Tropica Hotel, to have dinner at Asea Restaurant owned by her friend Lisa. We had TomYang soup, vietnamis noodle roll, Kani Vege Salad, Hamonized Crispy pata, Chap chae noodles and cocktails. Everything is super delicious must try.

Then we headed for Bluegre coffee shop for the durian cheese cake, unfortunately they faced it out and we had durian tart and durian coffee instead.  Stayed up a bit to enjoy the free wifi and slept 1am. And rested for the night
