Dare Davao

Dared Davao

Travel buddy dared me to go to Davao via bus. I said yes, but have to fly back to Manila.

Day 1 We left the Manila 2pm vial Philtranco at Pasay. The conductor collected our Ferry boat fare RORO. Everything is so smooth. SLEX, Tanauan Batangas, San Pablo City, Tiaong, Candelaria, Lucena, Pagbilao, Atimonan, Gumaca where we had our dinner.

Then proceed to Lopez, Labo and Daet, where we lost our gear control. There is a disconnected wire that is needed for the gear to functions. The drivers didn’t get to swap places because one have to hold the wire to keep the bus moving in the dark until we reach Naga. Finally our bus got fixed. We have a great bus drivers. That was 2 am, saw some white bikers got off the other bus and I think they will do the rest of the Philippines in their bike.

After night 1 Day 2

3 am we board back to our newly fixed bus and passed by Pili, Iriga, Oas, Legaspi City, Sorsogon, Irosin and Matnog where the ferry boats are waiting

7am. The conductor gave an instruction we did not understand about getting a boarding tickets, we just followed the flow of the passenger get off the bus, to a building, in a line, paid and got our boarding pass, went to a waiting area, secured some hotdogs and coffee, got out of the waiting area. Everybody walk to the boat, but we were too lazy to walk to we got back to the bus and finish our hotdogs.

The ferry boat have no aircon room, so we stay at the roof where the captain are, but we are just outside of the room, oven air, played ice breaker until we reach Allen. We had our final toilet break before getting of the ferry, looked for our bus and board.

10 am Calbayog, Catbalogan, where we had our lunch, Tacloban, Sogod (getting dark) until we reach Liloan for the RORO Ferry boat. Lost track of time. We found an aircon room where we sat comfortable and sleep again.

Day 3

Lost track of the time, before we got off the Roro, we discovered that there are chairs where we can lie flat on our back. Too late, we are getting off the ferry boat. Walked to our bus and back to sleep. Woke up in Monkayo sunrise 6am. Compostela, Nabunturan, Tagum City, Panabo and Finally Davao City.

We got of Buhangin, check in Hotel. Sleep, lunch at Luz Kinilaw with historical stories. Bought durian on the way back to the hotel, but we were prevented to eat at the aircon restaurant so we went to the other side of the function room with open window. After the durian my companion went back to sleep while I went to check out some ukay-ukay, didn’t bought any. Went back to the hotel and dress up for the church, went to Iron Horse for the buffet dinner, but it was close. So we found another buffet diner place which is just so so.

Then massage. Funny thing my companion ask me to have it separated so we can check out the service of two spa. I am just all alone in my spa with lots of mosquito nets. The lady masseur told me that is to prevent the request of extra service. Since I am the only customer, I can fully take off my clothes except the bottom. My masseur told me I am madaldal and friendly, unlike the other snob customers. And the other spa are so full, mix male and female, so I cannot imagine.

Day 4 Had a great breakfast with the Mt. Apo view by the window, spent the whole morning playing ice breaker. Checked out and check in Davao Airport. Flew back to Manila.
